Scores of people are feared dead after MV Nyerere Ferry capsized at Lake Victoria in Tanzania on Thursday.

The ferry, which had hundreds of passengers on board, was plying between Bugorara and Ukala islands in Tanzania.

In a statement confirming the incident, the Tanzanian government says rescue efforts are underway.

The boat/ship workers are killers!boat capacity 101, number of those who were in the boat during tragedy 400!!!!!! Receipts issued 101 which went into the government coffers and the remaining 299 travelers were issued with fake receipts, which means the whole amount went into the workers’ pockets!!!! which has led to this tragedy, what a shame! Halafu mnasema aah! Magufuli mkali! Honestly he cannot stomach such dishonest employees.
