Very true, kuna wababaishaji wengi tu hapa. Even basis knowledge inakuwa ngumu. You can't pin down anyone for a proper debate, bila kuanza kuleta utoto utoto.

Point of correction if you dont mind. At the NSE Safaricom is valued at $11 Billion Dollars! The total value of Safcom is $15 Billion..... Yani itahitaji bajeti nzima ya serikali ya Tz ya 2018/19 ku "take over"....
Anyway, Pongezi kwao kwa kuwa biggest single investor, the NSE is still small compared to the one in sa, tuendelee kujenga NSE.... ingekua poa kama tungefanyikiwa kuunganisa stock exchange zote za EAC in to one,

Wacha nikupatie paspective.... GDP ya Saudi Arabia ni $684 B, Kampuni ya kiserikali Saudi Armaco iko na net value ya $2 Trillion Dollars..... Tafakari.

Total Revenue per yera = $2.3 B ( Mpesa contributes about 28% or $630m, Mobile Data = $360m, Voice revenue $890million, SMS =$170m... So contrary to popular belief, MPESA is not Safcom biggest earner of revenue.

Net Profit = $550 Million USD.


In terms of Shareholding and Dividends returns for investors.

GoK gets $400m yearly from Safaricom ( $250m in Taxes and $150m as dividends for its 35% stake in Safcom)
Vodacom which aslo has 35% stake equivqalent to $4B worth of shares gets $150m annually...
And then the rest of the 582,000 shareholders share about $320 Million.... This is where the Tanzanian duo will also get their returns..... Some people who invested in Safcom back in 2009 have hadthere shares increase their worth by 500%
Treasury gets Sh40bn Safaricom pay cheque


The only other Company that Generates close to that amount of money in Kenya is KPA
