MP Keter accuses National Assembly Speaker of shielding Anne Waiguru in impeachment motion

Nairobi, Kenya: Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter Wednesday claimed that National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi is shielding Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru by demanding for additional documents to approve the impeachment motion. He further alleged he Executive was mounting pressure on the speaker over the motion. Mr Keter wants the Cabinet secretary out because of failing to safeguard Sh791 million that was stolen from National Youth Service through dubious deals, and the admission that Sh821 million was almost looted from the service by well-connected corruption cartels. The MP faced hurdles when his first attempt to impeach the CS failed because some MPs withdrew their signatures. He has managed 180 signatures from MPs, the threshold is 117. the standard
